I Teach People To Dance, and I Love It!

Everyone can be taught to dance at Dance-RS, and with a smile on their face! You can do it and I love to prove the doubters wrong!

Dance RS began at the end of an annual ‘Mummy’ night out in Glasgow. We were chatting about how we missed doing regular exercise, especially our beloved dance. I have taught dance from the age of seventeen, however, life events had taken over, pushing self-care to the background.

Something was missing both physically and mentally and we knew that an adult class was the perfect solution to get us (and fellow mums/workaholics/look-after everyone-but-yourself-types) dancing again.

Then we spotted TAPfit, an Australian-based company which combines basic tap with aerobic dance – we knew instantly it felt right. This is a class that does not feel like exercise; it provokes happy childhood memories, develops a skill and gets the brain working again.

We love the equipment – ‘feet beats’ which slip over any flat soled shoe, creating instant tap shoes and instant noise! There are also toners which engage the upper body ensuring an all over workout.

So Dance-RS was born and I just love meeting and working with people of all ages and abilities who have one thing in common – they love moving to music. I continually hear ‘I have two left feet’, ‘I have no rhythm’,  ‘I only dance after 10 vodkas’, ‘I’ll stay at the back’ etc etc. This is like music to my ears.

Dance RS aims to get everyone moving and feel good at the same time.

All sessions are fun, friendly and inclusive.

I look forward to meeting you,

Rachel

Our Feet Beats

We use ‘TAPfit’ feet beats, making tap dancing accessible for all. Please watch this video to see the equipment we use in class.
