Tap and Tone is a fun fusion of basic tap and modern dance, suitable for all ages, shapes and sizes. Tap your feet to the beat of the music in our special shoes and work out with these energetic classes – dance your way to fitness.

TapFIT Lite class

Lite

Have you always wanted to do tap and modern dance, but never felt ready for the intense class? Then try our Lite classes! A fun and fantastic way for more mature dancers looking for a really thorough workout in a friendly, sociable atmosphere without a high impact.

Junior classes for 7+

Junior

Junior is a fun, fitness-led dance class for children aged 6+. Led by two primary teachers these thematic based classes bring historic events to life through dance, tapping into your child’s imagination to make learning exciting, while linking exercise with building confidence and feeling good.

Seated

In our Seated classes we believe that music has an incredible effect on all of us. Our sessions are led by trained seated dance and exercise specialists and are designed to suit the individual’s physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs. All music tastes are catered for!

The Benefits of Dance

So what are the benefits? What do you stand to gain from adding dancing as a part of your weekly exercise regime? 

There are more benefits than you might think. It tones your body and improves balance, flexibility and posture, it naturally burns more calories so it’s great for your diet and for weight loss, too, plus it’s fun and sociable.

People underestimate the advantages dance has on the brain – it is important to ‘keep moving’ no matter what age. We offer a variety of classes to the public (please see the timetable to find a class suited to you).

We also work alongside many different groups in the community; the elderly, children/adults with additional support needs and carers. A huge part of our teaching takes place in care settings, predominately Care Homes for the elderly.

Everyone can participate – the sessions can also be undertaken as a chair-based form of exercise. Tap attachments over slippers, top hats on and Frank Sinatra ready! We offer tailor-made seated sessions allowing individuals to strengthen, remain mobile and independent whilst encouraging social interaction.

The music turns on, the tapping begins – not only are we facilitating exercise, but also recreating so many fantastic memories from years gone by.

Rachel and dancers Laura and Valerie visited Eastwood Care Home to give residents some outdoor seated exercise. During Covid-19,  restrictions have sadly prevented face-to-face visits.  It was great to see the dancers and staff at Eastwood.
